Where to turn up

First Saturday.
Every month.

Same rhythm every time, so you can keep the morning free without checking.

Two hours of work, half an hour of coffee. Free. No sign-up required, but it helps us buy the right amount of supplies if you tell us you're coming.

    Sixty Cards

Handmade birthday cards for residents at a local senior café, in a downtown library meeting room. All materials provided — cardstock, pens, stickers, the lot. No artistic skill required and nobody is judging your handwriting. Indoors, air-conditioned, good for a hot morning. Exact date and room go to the list the moment they're booked.

    First Saturday Pickup

The alleys behind Central Avenue in Grand Central. Gloves, bags and grabbers provided. Closed-toe shoes required. We work in pairs, two blocks each. If you see anything sharp you flag it and we deal with it — nobody picks up needles by hand.

    Restock the Little Sunshine Pantries

Meet in the supermarket car park. Everyone buys $10–15 of shelf-stable groceries from a list we hand you, then we drive round and fill the three city pantries at Silver Lake Park, Deuces Park and Childs Park. Sealed commercial food only — no homemade, nothing that melts.

Get the date the moment it's set

We're confirming venues and partners for the first events now. Leave your name and each date reaches you the moment it's booked — before it's posted anywhere else. We'll also message you the day before an event with the exact meeting point.

We'll email you when a date is set and once a month with the next one. Nothing else, and one reply to stop.

Things worth knowing

Bring: water, closed-toe shoes for anything outdoors, sunscreen. We bring everything else.

Under 18: welcome at most events with a parent or guardian present. A few partner sites have their own age minimums — we'll say so on the event.

Weather: outdoor events run unless there's lightning. We'll email by 7am if we move it.

Nobody drives anybody: we meet at the site. Carpooling is between you and whoever you arrange it with, not part of the event.
